A chemical compound of iodin and albumin. Three forms have been introduced as remedies: alpha-e., a brown powder containing about 20 per cent. of iodin; the same in combination with sodium; and beta-e., in which the albumin is predigested. They have been used internally instead of potassium iodid and as substitutes for iodoform.
