An American clergyman, hymn-writer, and author; born at Castine, Me., 1836. He has been pastor of the South Congregational Church in Hartford, Conn., since 1860. He is the author of several hymns, and has published among other works "Book of Praise"; "The Ministry of Beauty"; "Sermons on Domestic Duties".
