-
The popular name of a genus of fishes (Pogonias), some of the species of which occur off the coast of Georgia and Florida. They grow to a great size, some of them weighing above 100 lbs., and have their name from the extraordinary noise they are said to make under water. Called for the same reason GRUNTS.
