Dorado \Do*ra"do\, n. [Sp. dorado gilt, fr. dorar to gild, fr.

1. (Astron.) A southern constellation, within which is the
south pole of the ecliptic; -- called also sometimes
Xiphias, or the Swordfish.
2. (Zo["o]l.) A large, oceanic fish of the genus
Coryph[ae]na.
