Ascia, Dolabra, 'a carpenter's axe.' A Bandage en doloire is one in which the turns are so placed, that each one covers two-thirds of that which is immediately beneath it. It has received the name Doloire from its representing the obliquity of the edge of the instrument whose name it bears. See Bandage.
