A Croatian dramatist and poet; born at Agram, July 21, 1811; died there, June 24, 1872. His principal dramas are: "Love and Duty"; "Blood-Revenge"; and the tragedy "Teuta". He wrote a lyro-epic poem, "The Battlefield of Grobnik", and several stories. He translated several foreign dramatic works into Croatian.
