A form of galvanometer in which a coil of delicate wire is suspended between the poles of a fixed magnet. The passage of a current through the suspended coil causes it to turn and the deflection is indicated by a small mirror attached to the coil. The reflection of a scale in this mirror gives the angle of deviation.
