A term applied in West Africa to a vesiculopustular skin eruption, attended with itching. In some cases embryos of Filaria perstans have been found in the vesicles, but they are not usually recognized as the cause of the disease which is regarded by most authorities as simply a pustular eczema. The name has also been given to papular and pustular eruptions in the French Congo and on the Cameroon Coast.
