A strong triangular f. forming part of the anterior wall of the axilla. Its base is attached to the first rib, its apex to the coracoid process of the scapula, its superior border to the clavicle, its inferior border to the upper margin of the pectoralis minor muscle. It is continuous with the deep cervical f. and forms the sheath of the subclavius muscle. It is pierced by the cephalic vein, the thoraco-acrimonial vessels, and the lateral anterior thoracic nerve.
