An Italian poet and prose-writer; born in Pescia, Jan. 21, 1834. He got into trouble with the authorities when a student at college in consequence of his political activities; and. has been in the same trouble more or less all his life, banishment resulting on two or three occasions. The volume of "Poems of a Tuscan Exile" adequately typifies his poetry. His prose has been written mostly for political journals.
