Acidum chromicum (Br.), CrO3 chromic acid; occurs as small deliquescent needle-shaped or prismatic crystals, employed as a caustic in the removal of warts and other small growths from the skin and genitals, in a solution of gr. 100 to the ounce of water. The hydrated acid, H2CrO4, forms variously colored salts with potassium, lead, and other bases.
