A kind of vasculo-membranous prolongation of the pia mater, which lines the lower surface of the fornix united with the corpus callosum. It is stretched above the third ventricle and covers the posterior commissure and corpora quadrigemina. Anteriorly, the tela choroidea is continuous with the plexus choroides.
