It is a beta- globulin with a sedimentation coefficient of 5. 5, a molecular weight of 185, 000 and a serum concentration of 1. 3 micrograms/ ml. Its fragments have anaphylatoxic, chemotactic, and histaminic action and affect smooth muscle.
