pseudonym of Cristoforo Bonavino. An Italian philosopher; born in Pegli, Feb. 24, 1821. He wrote "The Rationalism of the People" (1856); "The Religion of the Nineteenth Century" (1853); and other works in which the Kantian standpoint is reconciled as much as possible with deistic mysticism. He died Sept. 11, 1895.
