A genus of plants including the milkweed, swallowwort, and
some other species having medicinal properties.
Asclepias butterfly (Zo["o]l.), a large, handsome, red and
black butterfly (Danais Archippus), found in both
hemispheres. It feeds on plants of the genus Asclepias.
