A French litterateur; born at Billom, May 9, 1828. Besides a number of translations and the editing of the works of Voiture and letters of Count d'Avaux, he has published: "A Misanthrope at the Court of Louis XIV.: Montausier" (1860); "History of Italian Literature under the Regime of Unification" (1869-83); and "Bird's-Eye View of Three Literatures" (1873).
