A French poet; born in Chaource, Champagne, about 1538; died there about 1585. He wrote in imitation of Ronsard, producing neat and dainty but rather insipid sonnets, in which we are assured that love, while a grand thing, has yet its inconveniences. "The Hunt" and "Liberality" are among his pieces.
