pl., adenomata. Syn.: glandular or adenoid tumor. A benign tumor composed of glandular epithelium, arranged in acini, ducts, or solid rows of cells, according to its origin. The acini are contained in a connective tissue stroma and usually possess a basement epithelium. They originate from mucous surfaces and glandular organs, and usually produce an abnormal secretion.
